Quote The plan as of now is for Asuka to defeat Carmella for the WWE Women's title at Money in the Bank. It's possible a reason for this is WWE's upcoming tour in Japan, but it should be noted that WWE took the title off of Jinder Mahal shortly before they visited India.

Lets all be thankful the run could already be nearly over, as she's a poor champion.

Asuka since her Mania tapout has barely been seen and they aren't going to have her lose again so soon.

Asuka should be able to pull some kind of passable contest out of the champion.

Asuka still has a aura about her even though she's no longer undefeated. But if she loses again so soon, even if it's because Carmella cheated, I think that would kill her aura.

Quote Carmella is backstage wearing an Asuka match for an interview. She calls the interviewer Dasha Fuentes a hater just like everyone else. She talks about beating Charlotte twice, and says that means she's twice as good as Asuka. She says she sees through Asuka's tricks and will moonwalk over her.

That's all we got to build the fued and it wasn't good enough. Where was Asuka?

Raw womens title match has a Mcmahon in the ring and a contract signing. Smackdown have a few backstage sentences from the champion and a challenger no show.

After this last week, I'm really hoping Asuka does win and has a rematch against Charlotte at Summerslam and retains.

To me, it seems that Asuka's shelf life is running out, so they had better strike while the iron is hot. Put the strap on her, let her carry for a respectable amount of time, give her a few good wins as champion, and then build someone up to take the title from her (Becky?) and then let her run out her contract and let her go back to Japan.

I don't see her having a LONG run with the WWE, but I would at least hope that it's a successful run that's remembered fondly for years to come.

I honestly think WWE have missed out in terms of striking whilst the iron is hot.

No matter what they do with Asuka now - she wont ever have that aura she had when she was undefeated.

At the time i wanted Asuka to beat Charlotte but i wasnt too disappointed Flair won because im a huge fan. Im starting to think now WWE made a huge mistake.

She should have won the title. Losing it would then have allowed her to do a story where she regains her fire and gets back to her best whereas at the minute shes neither here nor there for me and i hope Carmella retains

Quote Still to come: James Ellsworth vs. Asuka

- The broadcast team shows us some footage of intergender tennis matches in preparation for this intergender singles match up next.

- Asuka vs. James Ellsworth: Carmella is on commentary for this one. The opening bell sounds and Asuka shoves Ellsworth down, and Ellsworth rolls outside for a breather. Carmella gives Ellsworth a pep talk, but Ellsworth is still hesitant to engage. Ellsworth gets back in the ring and goes after Asuka, but Asuka tees off on him with a series of strikes. Asuka spins Ellsworth around until Ellsworth looks like he's going to get sick, then she slaps him across the face and hits a spinning back fist. Ellsworth runs out of the ring and Asuka chases him through the crowd and to the back of the arena. The ref counts them both out.

Winner: Double count-out

- Asuka chases Ellsworth back to the ringside area, where Carmella attacks Asuka from behind and drops her. Carmella takes Ellsworth up the ramp with her and to the back.

A double count out seems to be the finish of the week for creative to go with Sleepy

It wasn't great to watch. Ellsworth was never going to be allowed any offence and married man Graves was creaming like a teenage boy over Carmella on commentary.

One plus is I wouldn't like to pick which way this is going. I can see an arguement for a title change, but Carmella may retain, I dunno.

Quote Carmella (c) vs. Asuka: James Ellsworth is held above the ring in a shark cage for this match. Ellsworth gets locked in the cage by WWE staffers, and the opening bell sounds. Asuka starts off strong, but Carmella is able to fight her off, and then Ellsworh tosses a foreign object down to Carmella. Asuka sees it and throws the object away, then boots Carmella down. Ellsworth tries to throw another foreign object to Carmella, but fails again. Asuka continues the offense and hits a running hip attack. Asuka takes the fight out to ringside and beats down Carmella on the floor. Meanwhile in the ring, Ellsworth manages to break free form the cage, but his foot gets caught on the cage an he is now hanging upside down. Asuka laughs and gets in the ring, and she starts hitting Ellsworth like a piniata in the air. WWE staffers get in the ring and try to get Ellsworth down, but Asuka attacks them. Asuka clears the ring and continues attacking Ellsworth who is still hooked on the cage. Carmella sneaks in the ring from behind and shoves Asuka’s face into the cage. Carmella immediately covers for the three count for the win.

Winner & still Women’s Champion: Carmella

– Carmella celebrates on the ramp as Ellsworth is still caught up on the cage. Asuka gets to her feet and beats down Ellsworth as he gets free from the cage. Asuka suplexes Ellsworth multiple times before kicking him in the head. Asuka applies the Asuka lock as Ellsworth taps out and screams.

Nobody has said why Ellsworth is back. He's not said he's back to help Carmella and she's not said she's responsible for him being brought back. He just kinda turned up to be in this storyline and it's still to be explained.

The whole match last night sucked. It was like the old days of Divas when gimmicks and stupidity were what was booked.

For a company worth a billion they could surely have found a more reliable cage for Ellsworth to be locked in.....
