The reports are that young Nicholas is the son of referee John Cone.

There can be a lot of arguments made for worthy people of who should have been the partner; but Bruan beating Sheamus & Cesaro by himself says something. And if he is indeed going to beat the Bar by himself, why not let the son of a referee have a moment.

I don't know how long this team will last though. It will be interesting to see how Bruan defends the belts going forward.

I have mixed feelings.....

Ok I get it was a nice touch to let a kid have such a special moment and effectively it meant Braun officially had a partner while being able to single-handedly defeat the Bar which put him over strong, but what I didn't like was how weak this made Sheamus and Cesaro look and how it wasted a opportunity to involve someone like Samoa Joe or Elias or even a NXT talent.

I knew it would have to be a hand picked kid, no way would they go with a random at such a big live show.

Not sure how they move forward from here, hopefully they force Strowman to name a suitable tag partner or he will have to vacate the titles.

"My partner isn't here tonight because he has school, i guess I'll have to defend them on my own."

Will be entertaining for a few weeks.

Fair enough there. And the calls about how it buries Raw's tag division, are about as meaningful as saying the finale of Mixed Match Challenge not being on WrestleMania and Angle/Rousey vs Steph/HHH buries the mixed tag division.

WHAT RAW TAG DIVISION!?!? Oh you mean The Revival? Yeah they've been booked well! Or do you mean Gallows and Anderson? Cause they've been booked so much better! I mean, they got a win over the Revival. Or maybe you're talking about the Miztourage? Those two jobbers nobody wanted and Miz turned into somebodies, but who, like everyone else that breaks away from The Miz ends up fired in under a year.

There IS no tag division on Raw. There's the Bar and some jobbers.

Strowman will need a new tag partner that is at least old enough to receive a paycheck and isn't protected by child-labor laws, so they'll get him a new tag partner. Hopefully Big Cass, and they can move forward from there after a superstar shakeup that ought to see the Uso's got to Raw, and hopefully the call ups of Authors of Pain, and Sanity.

That’s all fair comment. I’m not expecting Strowman to hold the belts for long, he may even vacate them on Raw tonight which would actually be a excellent opportunity to reshuffle the Raw tag-division, draft the Usos to Raw and bring up Sanity and the Authors of Pain, bring up Kassius Ohno to replace the injured Sheamus.

As Reigns failed Strowman should now be the one to dethrone Lesnar.

Quote RAW GM Kurt Angle comes out to kick off the show. Ladders are set up around the stage to promote the upcoming Money In The Bank pay-per-view. Angle steps in the ring and gets on the mic, and he confirms that there will be a men's ladder match and women's ladder match at Money In The Bank this year. Angle says RAW will decide their Money In The Bank combatants in the ring, with two qualifying matches tonight. Braun Strowman comes out to interrupt.

Strowman gets on the mic and tells a story about not being allowed in a neighborhood treehouse when he was a kid, so he destroyed it. Angle says Braun has been on a roll lately and deserves a shot at Money In The Bank. Kevin Owens comes out to interrupt, and says he's the one who deserves the spot. He says he's already the RAW MVP, and rants about being more deserving than Braun. Angle starts going back and forth with Owens, but Braun interrupts and says the only thing Owens deserves is to get these hands. This leads to Angle booking Braun Strowman vs. Kevin Owens tonight in a MITB qualifying match, and that match starts right now. Angle's music hits and the fans chant "You Suck" as the Olympic gold medalist heads to the back.

- Braun Strowman vs. Kevin Owens: The winner of this match will get a spot in the men's Money In The Bank ladder match. The opening bell sounds and Owens unloads with strikes on Strowman to start off. Strowman grabs Owens and tosses him across the ring, knocking down the ref in the process. Owens tries to fight back, but Braun beats him down all over the ring. Braun throws Owens outside, and Owens hops over the barricade to try to escape. Braun brings Owens back to the ringside area, but Owens drops him on the floor with a tornado DDT. Strowman misses a shot in the corner and crashes into the ring post, and he doesn't get back in the ring until the ref's 8 count. Owens is waiting for Braun in the ring and unloads on him, and the fight spills back out to ringside. Braun hits Owens with a big running shoulder tackle into the fan barricade, and the back of Owens' head hits the top of the barricade. Braun takes Owens back in the ring and hits the running powerslam for the three count.

Winner: Braun Strowman

- Strowman poses after the match and gets a pop from the New York crowd. Cole explains on commentary that Strowman now has a shot at the Money In The Bank ladder match, and if he goes on to win that, he gets a Title shot whenever he wants.

He's got to be the massive favourite to win the MITB briefcase.

It's the next natural step after winning in Saudi Arabia to becoming universal champion no latter than Wrestlemania next year.

He could have held the title ages ago with his monster push, but creative are quite rightly letting it continue to be a slow burn.

I don't see Strowman taking the briefcase. I just think it would be a bad choice; he'd look a bit ridiculous with it.

I disagree I wouldn't put it past him to just take out brocks opponent get in the ring and yell at the ref to ring the bell to cash in the briefcase.

What better way would there be to put over Strowman than to have Lesnar come out on Raw and have Heyman go through his usual stich on the mic then have Braun march out with the briefcase and roar for a ref to get out there then slam the case down and say he’s cashing in while Brock is fresh. Then have Strowman defeat him for the title with a decisive but not completely one sided win.

You know? That's kind of how I feel too, but on the other hand, as a short-term carrier he could be pretty great too. A series of taunts from him, a who cares attitude towards whether or not he gets a sneak attack in or whether or not his opponent is down and injured both would add to his character, I think.

In fact, I think threatening Brock Lesnar with taunts of: "The next time you deign worthy to show up for work again, I'm going to catch you in the ring, and I'm going to cash in whether you like it or not." Would really work in his favor.

If they were to go the typical route most Money in the Bank holders go with the whole jobbing constantly, and failing to cash in because they get beat up at the last second, or don't get the perfect opportunity would definitely hurt him. But seeing him brimming with confidence that as soon as Lesnar shows up, he's cashing in would be pretty good.
