wrote 2 full length manuscripts when I was 15 to 17, one at 65,000+ and the other at around 75,000. never submitted either, as they were fucking awful.

a few years back, I was up to around 50,000 words on something that was a bit hacky, but good enough to be cheap pulp fiction, about a bank heist that lead the robbers to an abandoned lab with genetically mutated cannibals living under it. then my PC went tits up, and I didn't have a back up file of it, so c'est la vie.

still trying to write stuff now, that isn't so obviously a rip-off of anything like From Dusk Til Dawn, but it's slow going; lots of ideas, no plan of action.

Been doing some reading lately. I've been looking for some sort of fantasy that interested me, as I am not that open minded and willing to give shit a shot without it actually sounding good to me first. I was getting frustrated when my wife suggested I get a biography or something way different and try a fantasy book some other time. That led me to thinking about the only biography I've heard shilled lately: The best in the world (at what I have no idea) by Chris Jericho. Ok, well I like Jericho well enough, like Austin, due to their podcasts which I very much enjoy I have have come to like Jericho more and more all the time, but I wasn't going to start with part 3 in his autobiography, so I picked up A Lions Tale, and really enjoyed it, then I got Undisputed, and liked that even more, tonight I just finished Best in the World and liked it just as much as the 2nd book.

I know, I'm odd in that I enjoy reading very much when I get into the book I am reading, but it is very difficult for me to actually get into a book so I end up pissing and moaning like a retard about how I want to read something and then shoot down everything anyone ever recommends me. What a jerk, but I gotta say I liked my wife's suggestion and she turned out to be right on the money here because no sooner had I finished Best in the World than I had found a series of 4 fantasy novels I am very much interested in and already enjoying.

So now I am just starting The Last Wish, book1 of The Witcher series chronicling the life of Gerault of Rivia. This is also a very popular series of video games, the third due out in a matter of weeks I believe. I started into the games, and loved them immediately, but grew bored quickly too... so I am hoping the books which I am also loving right away do not turn me off in time, but instead kindle (ha! E-book pun!) my interest in the games again because I really want to like them, and they've gotten good reviews from people I trust.
