What the Fuss?

1: Ring work, ring work, ring work. She is the best of the four horsewomen in the ring, and that's a major achievement.
2: Sincerity. Yes her promo is weak, but like both Daniel Bryan and the Hitman, it's both serviceable when she's out of her element (but still scripted, throwing her in the deep end of improve wasn't good at all) and most of all it seems real and genuine. Too many people throw out clichés about the fans and it falls on deaf ears, but Hitman, Bryan, and also Bayley truly feel real when they talk about it.
3: Different. No body is like her in the women's division. Emma with the bubbles was the closest, but Emma didn't get built up from having exemplary mat skills above and beyond her peers and Emma didn't get the kind of push Bayley got either.
4: Throwback to Savage & Warrior. If you're gonna harken back to former wrestlers why not go with 2 guys who are among the 3 who defined the late 80's and early 90's? And then you throw in a good bit of John Cena into the mix? She's got superstar written all over her.

She is designed specifically to get over with the little kids, specifically little girls. That is her target demographic. If she does that, she's succeeding in the eyes of WWE brass. The fact that she's getting over with men who are hardcore, long-time wrestling fans as well? Even just a group of them? That's amazing.

I've heard many other guys talk about how the thing they like most about her is that she doesn't look like a supermodel, but she has that girl-next-door look, and they dig that she's really sweet and hugs everyone. ... Personally that's an argument that I don't really get, but I've seen it made far too many times by now to ignore it anymore. I guess they just like that she makes them smile.

All of that goes for nothing though IMO if she weren't so damned good in the ring. She's not even that flashy in the ring, it's just that she's always doing things differently, and her moveset is vast.

She does deserve to be where she is. I like the fact she seems just a happy, genuine person.

She is amazing in the ring and she seems humble. The segment with Stephanie was meant to get her over solidly as a babyface....I almost expected a Sasha heel turn in the ring but nope just a Sasha Charlotte match I assume this is building to something.

Alicia Fox is ringside with Sasha Banks, Nia Jax, and Asuka. The final member of the women’s Team RAW will be decided right now.

Winner is on the Women’s Team Raw: Mickie James vs. Dana Brooke vs. Bayley

A replay is shown of Alicia Fox inviting Sasha Banks to be on Team Raw, but not Bayley.

They do a three-way test of strength. James kicks and takes them both down. James attacks Brooke. Bayley attacks James, but Brooke makes a comeback and tries to take them both out, but it backfires. Bayley is knocked to ringside.

-Commercial Break-

We come back from the break to see Bayley hit Brooke and James with back suplexes. Bayley then snaps Brooke off the middle rope. James quickly takes Bayley down with a flapjack and kips up. James goes to the top rope, but Bayley cuts her off. Bayley goes for a superplex, but James fights her off. James then connects with a flying Thesz Press, but Brooke breaks up the pin. James forearms away at Brooke before ducking a clothesline and kicking her. James then hits a flying forearm. James then hits a nasty neckbreaker on Bayley. James and Brooke then take each other out with a hair pull. Brooke lands at ringside in front of Asuka. Asuka checks on her, so Brooke hits her. Asuka chases her to the opposite side of the ring and crushes her with a stiff spin kick. In the ring, James rolls Bayley up for a two count. James goes for a backslide, but Bayley turns it for a two count. James goes for a DDT, but Bayley counters into a Bayley-To-Belly for the win.

Winner by Pinfall: Bayley

Bayley is the fifth member of the Women’s Team RAW. Bayley stands tall in the ring with her teammates.

The crowd was dead for it. Bayley seems to have lost a lot of the fanbase she used to have.

Her tame finisher should not be putting anyone away. It's needed changing for ages.

Sadly she won't be turned heel as she's seen as the female Cena for kiddy merchandise sales.

I think that was the reason James was chosen to take the pin, a Bayley to Belly on Dana wouldn't have looked good, certainly not a finisher.

she got the usual pop for when she came out, I think the apathy was that it was obviously going to be Bayley who was going to be the fifth woman, nothing was done in that match to build any intrigue or doubt.
