The issue with Bayley THE CHARACTER IS TOO NICE.

That right there is the problem that and the start of 2017 when she was feuding with Alexa Bliss she was completely buried in that feud it was horrible to watch especially the this is your life segment.

Seriously who is scared of working a gimmick match even if it was a kendo stick on a pole match which I cannot believe they did that instead of a straight up extreme rules match.

Being nice with the kids is one thing but allow some room for her to be an adult she's literally acting like a child most of the time and that is frustrating to see she needs to be able to act like an adult and more importantly as a woman and right now she hasn't been able to do that.

A move to Smackdown would be great for her the women there tend to focus more on the wrestling then the promos that Raw is known for not they don't do promos but at least they do more wrestling then anything else.

I don't see a heel turn working for her. There's no point alienating the fans that she does have in order to appeal to people who probably still won't like her.

She’s said herself she’s not comfortable going heel as the babyface hugger gimmick is who she is and she loves interacting with the kids and so forth.

I would say the way forward is switch her to Smackdown and give her babyface character another go with a different set of opponents. Toughen her up though, have her do the hugger thing and embrace her inner childhood fan and all that but she needs to get serious in the ring.

I would agree. Move her to Smackdown, give her some more practice on promors and keep her away from the title for a year or so while she establishes herself in feuds with standard heels like Riott (after going through Morgan and Logan), Carmella and Natalya before eventually getting back into the mix with the horsewomen. She can tag with Lynch or Charlotte at almost any point in between feuds to keep herself fresh.

It's one of those that shouldn't actually be too difficult to make happen.

I would switch Becky, Tamina and Charlotte to Raw and send Bayley, Alicia Fox and Nia Jax to Smackdown. Reasons being that way Bayley can become the star face in more of a big fish in small pond type scenario, likewise Nia can be the top heel. Becky and Charlotte can return to the star studded Raw division.

That would cripple the Smackdown women's division. While Bayley is being built you're left with one face, that being Naomi, whose push got her over but didn't make her a draw. Without Charlotte and Becky there are no draws on Smackdown and none of Bayley, Alicia Fox or Nia Jax would change that.

I'd move Naomi for Bayley. They're at quite a similar level and provide similar roles, plus I suspect Naomi will want to switch rosters with her husband anyway.

Bayley needs horsewomen in order to guarantee good matches. This is a problem I've noticed with the horsewomen - they all perform best against each other. They're too used to each other from down in NXT. Really it's a problem with the whole women's division but in microcosm the horsewomen really exemplify it. Natalya is a great wrestler. She has chemistry with Becky and Charlotte, but everything is much much slower when it's not two horsewomen in the ring. Same with Bliss. Same with Naomi. Same with Asuka I'm sure when she starts competing against them.

They all fall back into the same patterns and routines when they're against each other. They lack fluidity against anyone else. Bayley desperately needs horsewomen around her if she moves across.

That's very much in line with what she has said she wanted to do ever since she was in NXT. She wanted to slowly work her way up organically and hopefully get over in the process. I don't see how that should be so hard to do.

I agree too. She's a Raw afterthought and done nothing of note there for months.

Quote Sasha Banks and Bayley vs. Sonya Deville and Mandy Rose: Mandy starts off against bayley and gets the upper hand early on. Mandy beats down Bayley in the corner then hits a powerslam for a tow count. Bayley fights back and lands a suplex of her own. Paige and Deville pull Rose to safety, and Sasha tags in. Sasha fires up and knocks Sonya off the apron, but when she turns around she receives a knee to the face from Mandy for a two count. Sonya tags in and continues the beat down on Sasha. Rose tags back in and knocks Bayley off the apron. Sonya gets in a cheap shot on Sasha while the ref is distracted. Sasha rolls up Mandy out of nowhere but Sonya breaks it up. Bayley knocks Sonya to the outside, then Sasha comes back with a Banks Statement on Mandy in the middle of the ring. Mandy taps out.

Winners: Sasha Banks and Bayley

She was involved in the majority of the face selling and didn't pick up the win for her team.

She's pretty much acknowledged on social media that 2017 wasn't her year, so maybe she plans a change of course, be that a brand change or persona change. Maybe both?

I think it's just one of those things. You can't win them all and in order for someone to win, someone else has to lose. Long term, especially considering Total Divas, Bliss was probably the right person to push.

One of the nice things that have come about as a result of the women's revolution is that once you're out of the title scene, there's still something of value for you to be a part of. Bayley can start over, and still get over. She's exceedingly good in the ring, and has the hearts of a demographic WWE would be dumb to ignore or even undervalue, especially since they put out so much press saying how things are supposed great for young girls and women.

WWE just needs to go back to basics and show everyone why Bayley was such a huge deal in NXT.
