The difference is that Asuka is in the highly important (to WWE) women's division, whereas tag team matches are over used and boring and the division and champions mean fuckall these days. And by days I mean the last 15-25 years.

I can't remember not just when but even IF I've seen a good tag team match on the main roster since I started watching again.

Quote Source: The Wrestling Observer Newsletter

According to sources, the reason The Authors of Pain haven’t been on WWE television lately is because one of the two members of the team recently had a visa issue. With that being said, the issues have now been resolved and they are able to return to WWE TV immediately.

WWE’s main focus right now is reportedly on getting “The B Team” and Dolph Ziggler/Drew McIntyre over with the fans as much as possible. The working plan is to bring back The Authors of Pain when they can have more focus put on them. When that happens remains to be seen.

Rookie mistake by E to not check shit like this out before they were originally called up.

It shouldn't matter that time is being used to build two other teams. In a three hour show you can build up a third tag team to be in the title challenger catergory.

Still think they will flop without Ellering. Most of the similar type of big man teams in the past such as Legion Of Doom and Demolition were better with someone talking for them.

They should interfere in the SD title match and take out the BB.

Great way to announce their return as the BB have been poor champions especially when you consider how good the usos were

And if they do that you might as well call time on Sanity ever doing anything in WWE again.

I've heard about 15 different 'reasons' why Authors Of Pain aren't currently on TV. The closest one to the truth is at the bottom of the quote there.

It's WWE's quiet season, where the part timers are gone and they push people who will probably not get a push again. Ziggler/McIntyre are champs in waiting and there's no denying that. Meanwhile the B Team will sink back down again in no time.

I still expect Authors Of Pain vs Ziggler and McIntyre to be built as the top match of the Raw tag division. People just need to learn some damn patience for once. Not everybody needs to be on TV every week. AoP are being given some time away from the spotlight so that they can adapt to the heavier travelling schedule, the new producers, the lack of rehearsal time and cutting promos without Ellering.

It really is probably as simple as that, WWE want them to work on their promos and get used to the larger crowds and the travel before giving them too much exposure on the main roster.

I do agree that removing Ellering was a bad call, he added something to the act and has stated he would be willing to go on the road so not sure why they took him away. Without a mouthpiece they will just appear as a couple of generic big guys, might be better to have them work as faces to put over their power and dominance.

There is only limited time on Raw for the tag division so I do get that the B-Team and McIntyre/Ziggler are the priority right now. As Tom said the push for the B-Team will likely be very short-term, I see them being very much like Slater/Rhyno in that they will have a short mini-push before settling back into their natural home as enhancement talents.

Glad they were back on TV this week

The attitude backstage went down well and also the after match attack. They looked dominant against 2 jobbers and look as though they will be straight into a feud with Titus Worldwide which will be good

Quote The Authors of Pain are backstage walking, and Drake Maverick is walking with them in a matching outfit.

- Drake Maverick and the AOP come out to the ring, and Drake has a mic. Drake says he's now the new manager of the AOP, and he's going to make them the new RAW Tag Champs.
- The Authors of Pain vs. Enhancement talent: The Authors are against two unnamed jobbers in this one. They authors completetly dominate this one from the start. They slam one jobber into the corner, and clothesline the other from the top. The Authors do the Super Collider for the win after a very short squash match.

Winners: The Authors of Pain

Big surprise new manager. We all know they needed mouthpiece, but we wouldn't have thought of Drake Maverick for the role.

We now need to hear from AOP as to why they have hired Drake Maverick as their manager.

I found it quite funny all three had the same gear on, when you look at the obvious size and height difference.

I like it. Everyone has questioned the decision to remove Ellering from their act when he was such a vital part of it in NXT and it was so clear AOP don't have promo skills and needed a mouthpiece.
Well for whatever reasons Ellering couldn't stay with them on the main roster, my guess is the schedule provided a issue, the NXT travel regime is much lighter, they tried them without a manager and it failed so now they've given them a new one.

Maverick is a charismatic and polished promo guy and this gives him a reason to be part of Raw, its a smart move as far as I'm concerned. Not sure about him wearing the AOP gear but I can live with it, I'm just glad they have a manager again as they looked lost without one.

I like it too. Just hope it's explained on screen the storyline reasons behind it.

Quote In a follow up to a previous post about the Authors of Pain and their new manager, Drake Maverick, we noted that one of the reasons WWE brought Maverick over is because officials felt that the Authors of Pain badly needed a mouthpiece. We have since learned that another reason for the company going with Maverick is because his smaller stature makes the Authors of Pain look bigger and more dominant.

Many online are already bashing the partnership instead of seeing where it goes.

I've seen lots of comments along the lines of it looking like a little brother who mum has told big brothers they have to look after.

Another report I’ve seen stated that the reason Paul Ellering was scrapped from the Authors of Pain act was because Vince McMahon is pushing something of a youth movement with the product and felt Ellering was too old for the main roster.

As I said I like that they are using Maverick in this new role. AOP badly need a mouthpiece as they looked completely lost without one and DM is a great talent, tons of charisma and great on the mic, sadly his look and small size mean that he will never be able to be taken seriously as a in ring competitor in WWE but in the managerial role he will be just fine.
I also agree that his small stature does help put over the size of the Authors of Pain making them look more like monsters.
