Asuka steals the spotlight every segment she is in, so the only way to stop that is to keep her out of any meaningful segment. Her main roster run has been a complete afterthought, and it sucks because she has the charisma to get people interested in her even without speaking. She has a wicked sense of humor that comes across in every move she makes. There is no doubt in my mind that if she could speak fluent English she would be the most over wrestler on the entire roster.

Asuka being left out of a singles match also highlight one other problem WWE's women's division has; not enough stars. While I was watching the Andre the Giant documentary the other day, of any of the current stars that he reminded me of, Asuka came to mind more than anyone. Andre couldn't speak very good English throughout almost all of the documentary he was subtitled even when speaking English. Now, granted he could speak better English than Asuka can, AND his accent was heavily influenced by his gigantism which played in his favor as well, however, watching Andre wrestle, watching him work the crowd, you could see what he was thinking, you can feel a connection to him, you could get behind him as a fan without ever knowing what he had to say just by watching him work in the ring, and the same is true of Asuka.

Yes, if she could speak fluent English she would be a much bigger star in WWE, but the real problem is that like everyone was saying, who is there to pair with her? All the best women were dragged into the main event or the women's tag storyline.

In my opinion Nikki Cross could have put on a spectacular show as the #1 contender for the Smackdown Women's Championship, but she's been unused for the vast majority of the time since her main roster debut. Had she been put on TV to have vicious squash matches where she either won in a matter of moments, or got DQ'ed by use of a foreign object, and she was shown to be the psycho she was in NXT, then she would have made a credible threat, and she and Asuka could have put on a unique showing that Wrestlemania is lacking by having a match akin to a TLC match.

But WWE dropped the ball with their booking, like they do consistently with undercard matches and feuds.

don't agree with that. you have Mandy Moore, Sonya Deville, both of whom have seemingly been put into a break up feud, at such a stupid time since it was put on hold in the build up to Mania mainly for Becky and Charlotte being in the Raw Women;s title match, but still taking up SDL time, or the very brief inclusion of the Tag Titles.

You have former champs like Naomi, with the additional pull there of them being friends. you have Lana, who I still think needs to be put into a segment that will play off Archer at least once, you have Carmella, who could be interesting having a run with the title as a face, and with R-Truth backing her up, which itself would have given Lana a title feud with Rusev. As you say, there's Nikki Cross, so there were and are several people that she could have faced and feuded with if the will had been there. sadly, it was obvious at the Rumble, with Becky getting into and winning the Rumble match, that the SDL title, especially when held by Asuka, was not really given any consideration.

I doubt the original plan for the Rousey match at Mania was for both titles to be on the line, I genuinely think someone in WWE finally noticed they had done fuck all to build even a thrown together feud and match for Asuka, so they just decided to put the belt on Charlotte, as for them, it works better when Becky gets the win, as she didn't win the SDL title at the Rumble, had to really fight so hard to get the title shot at Rousey that she had earned, and even then, was gifted by Rousey her place in the match rather than won the match that determined it. that works for Becky's story.

no thought was given to Asuka.

everything else you've written, I fully agree with.

Let me amend this to no credible threats available. Mandy Rose and Sonja are doing their own thing, and no neither of them are even remotely in Asuka's league, seeing as Asuka has been in the same position Rousey will be in at Mania and she won her match and took the title. Asuka vs Rousey is the only credible fight aside from Asuka vs Charlotte. She's beaten Becky every single time.

Do you see Rousey or Charlotte being challenged by any heels on smackdown? I don't. Not even close. Babyfaces? Not really, Naomi sort of Carmella only if she's got help from the likes of R-Truth, yet she's still a major underdog.

Asuka is no different from Rousey or Charlotte in terms of strength of booking. It's just that she's treated like an afterthought regardless.

Mandy Rose is the new barbie doll with no talent but good looks.

Lana is the worst woman in the division now that the Bella Twins are gone.
