Personally I'd have her take a couple of months off and come back at Money in the Bank, taking the briefcase and then being an absolute menace to the champion. By that point there'd have been another shakeup so she'd have some new opponents and not be far away from the point where Asuka/Rousey would be a massive deal. I'd have her lose again to Lynch and then perhaps lose to Charlotte while maintaining a general strangehold on everybody else. Go into the Rumble as champion, get challenged by Rousey, put Rousey over at mania and then do a couple of jobs and retire.

I think she'd be able to look back on an amazing WWE career, particularly given that Asuka vs Rousey, after just over 2 years of build, could legitimately main event Wrestlemania.

It's a good switch as it makes a rematch with Charlotte easier to have.

She's also got a fresh roster of women to compete against, instead of the same women she's beaten many times before.

I wonder if she will be turned heel though at some point, like what happened with Nakamura.

Theres a few matches for her on Smackdown so the switch makes perfect sense.

To be honest i thought once she picked to face Charlotte then that was effectively the switch taking place

This move to me seemed all but a forgone conclusion after her lose at Mania.

Now you have an interesting dynamic between her and Charlotte going forward. Maybe a heel turn?

Can see a match in the works for SummerSlam between her and Charlotte were she finally gets the belt.

She basically ran through every woman on the RAW roster, now its rinse and repeat until she faces Charlotte again.

One of them will turn heel in a few months time. They got enough to keep them going for now with Iconics, Absolution and Mella so the switch won't come until err perhaps Summerslam at the earliest.

Good to see Asuka back to her winning ways. That was a fun handicap match, and a good way to show off the fact that Asuka is still the badass she was before she got beat.

I also find it nice that the women's roster has grown to such a degree that new call-ups are now used as enhancement talent early on. I think that's the proper move. It's real old school. Job for a while, earn the trust of your co-workers, prove you're good enough to hang, then get a storyline and a head of steam with a win-streak and start moving up the card.

Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville are good jobbers, and they're both plenty young enough to job for a while before moving up the card and eventually being champions themselves.

I know a number of people could choose to look at the latest women's call-ups as failures, but I think it just shows how far the division has progressed that they can do something other than just debut, become women's champion, retire all in the span of about 3 years. Granted, Paige did that inadvertently, due to her injuries, but even she has gone through that exact kind of run. The fact that women as talented as Sonya are jobbing while still being protected to some extent is a very good sign that this new treatment is not a step back in the division but rather a step forward. In the cases of Sonya and Mandy, more so than with Sarah Logan, and Liv Morgan, it's pretty easy to see that one day they will be women's champion, it's just going to have to take them longer than the instant rise to fame you used to see 5 years ago.

Meanwhile, Asuka, with her age, skill, talent & experience deserves to be champion right away. She's not going to be around as long as some of the other girls, and she's already accomplished so much more in her career and is plenty capable of carrying the division right now, something you can not say of Sonya, or Mandy, or even Ruby Riott (though she's getting there IMO).

Yet again , Asuka loses. Since “the streak” her value has fell more than most realize. See now most are ready for Asuka

I just heard that Asuka may have walked out from WWE because of her unhappiness w/ her status at SummerSlam. Well, look what eventually happened to Nia Jax when she walked away for a little while- she won the RAW Women's Championship.
It's over. It's ALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL over!

Quote Asuka vs. Peyton Royce: Billie Kay and Naomi are both at ringside for this one. Peyton starts off strong and controls the pace for the opening moments. Asuka goes for a dropkick off the middle rope, but misses. Asuka tries to fight back, but Peyton drops her with a clothesline for a two count. Peyton misses a shot and Asuka comes back with a successful missile dropkick off the middle rope. Asuka applies an ankle lock. Peyton reaches the ropes and Billie grabs her arm until Naomi drops her. Asuka pulls Peyton back in the ring and applies the Asuka Lock for the win via submission.

Winner: Asuka

An heel turn has to be forthcoming to help her character that's gone really stale since her streak ended.

Finally losing should have been an exciting moment to see what would happen next, how she would be booked to deal with etc. Instead she's had very little done with her.

I don't think she's had a proper storyline since her loss.
