Every single woman in the Elimination Chamber is a woman Asuka has beaten.

Smackdown has women Asuka has never faced like Natalya, Charlotte, Naomi, and Becky oh and Lana, can't forget her can we? And I believe Nikki Bella is still technically considered a member of the smackdown roster, right?

I'm sure Asuka's streak will end with Nikki Bella.

That said, according to the promo by Kurt Angle, if Jax wins, she is placed into the title match with Asuka vs the winner of the elimination chamber in a triple threat match.

Keep in mind Angle was bumbling and stumbling over his words the whole promo, probably because it was a last minute change, so I'm sure they'll ignore it and go a different way if the mood strikes.

Sad as it is to say, you really can't take anything Angle says as gospel, despite his role.

That said, if Nax picks up a DQ win, for example, we then have Bliss vs Jax vs Asuka at mania. The next night Asuka can walk out and say "yeah, I'm going to Smackdown" and leave Bliss vs Jax at mania.

I think that's what WWE are doing here. They've leaked the rumour to Meltzer that they might be doing Bliss vs Jax so they've managed to add a bit more to the idea that Asuka might actually lose to Jax.

She's not going to be pinned or submitted but could potentially get a DQ or count out loss. They can still phrase it as undefeated. I still think Bliss vs Sasha vs Bayley with Banks taking the title is the most likely scenario.

Bayley then goes to Smackdown and Becky Lynch wins the Rumble to beat Asuka at mania.

Hopefully.

Yet she's not been on Raw for a particularly long length of time and has gone through everybody without even having a memorable fued.

Quote Bayley vs. Asuka: The opening bell sounds and it's all Asuka in the opening moments. She works on keeping Bayley grounded, then they stand up and trade strikes. Bayley finally starts firing up and sends Asuka outside, then follows up with a hurricanrana. They brawl around ringside some more before taking things back in the ring. Bayley fires up and hits a belly to back suplex. Asuka comes back and hits a running hip attack. Bayley drops Asuka's throat over the middle rope and they briefly fight around the apron, until Asuka gets her back on the mat for a two count. Asuka follows up with a series of kicks to Bayley, but Bayley blocks one and rolls her up for a two count. They trade strikes in the middle, then Bayley goeso for the suplex but Asuka escapes. Asuka goes for the Asuka Lock, but Bayley escapes and rolls Asuka up for a two count. Asuka catches Bayley in an arm bar and Bayley taps out.

Winner: Asuka

- After the match, Asuka extends her hand to Bayley, and Bayley hesitates but does shake her hand.

I think a lot of fans are bored of her Female Goldberg persona and are waiting to see her lose, to see how her character reacts to finally tasting defeat.

Many women on Raw helped build the division for the women, and now they look like shit as there isn't one of them that can beat Asuka.

I wouldn't compare Asuka to Goldberg at all. Her matches with Bliss, Banks, Jax, Emma and Bayley have all been very exciting. With Goldberg you never doubted that he'd smash through people; with Asuka they can create that atmosphere with her and make her a bit of an escape artist.

I don't question that she needs some actual feuds now to develop her personality but what's the point of doing that on a brand where she won't be this time two months from here. Smackdown's women's division is far more physical in nature, topped by stronger and more experienced performers. While Asuka vs Carmella will be an outright procession, Natalya will be able to put Asuka over right. Charlotte will be able to show Asuka's bloodlust, which is something Goldberg never showed. Ruby Riott has a fearless streak that will suit a feud with Asuka too.

They've made Asuka a big deal almost overnight. There's still a lot of work to do but their patience is almost guaranteed to be rewarded with this one.

They really need to stop her doing promos - she sounds like she's having a severe allergic reaction to something and her tongue cant fit into her mouth

Quite looking forward to the match v Nia though

Asuka, like Nakamura, is a very talented wrestler who has natural charisma without being able to speak English very well. I do wonder who decided to book her to do an interview and if she would benefit from an advocate of some description (a Paul Heyman type except a Japanese/English speaker)

Quote Asuka comes out to teh ring next for an in-ring interview. Before she can get started, Alexa Bliss and Mickie James come out to interrupt. Alexa says Asuka's english isn't very good, so Alexa will explain why Asuka changed her WrestleMAnia opponent. Alexa says Asuka is scared to face Alexa because she knows she'll break Asuka's winning streak. Alexa tells Asuka she knows she can't beat her, and it's cowardly to back out. Asuka says she chose Charlotte because "to be the women you've got to beat the woman," and she wants to face the ebst in WWE, which is Charlotte. Asuka ends up challenging Alexa to a match tonight, but Alexa says instead she gets "this woman," then points to the stage. No one comes out, so Alexa and Mickie cheap-shot Asuka and beat her down together.

- Mickie James vs. Asuka: This gets made a match dring the commercial break, and it's all Mickie in the opening moments as she beats down Asuka. Asuka finally comes back with a flying hip attack, then she puts the boots to Mickie. Mickie rolls outside for a breather, and Asuka kicks her from the apron. Mickie tries to escape over the barricade, but Asuka grabs her and throws her into the ring post. Asuka goes for a kick, but Mickie ducks and Asuka kicks the ring post. Asuka is now selling a leg injury from the kick. Asuka gets back in the ring, and Mickie immediately starts working over the bad leg. Mickie looks for a reverse DDT, but Asuka escapes and hits a kick to the head. It sounds like there's a "Rusev Day" chant in the crowd. Asuka hits a splash in the corner, then a knee to the face for a two count. Mickie continues going to Asuka's bad leg. Mickie goes up top and Asuka follows, which leads to Mickie hitting a sunset flip powerbomb for a two count. Mickie goes for a kick, but Asuka ducks and puts on the Asuka Lock. Mickie taps out for the finish. Alexa leaves ringside and heads to the back as soon as the bell rings.

Winner: Asuka

Nothing at all explained such as.......

1) If she's facing the Smackdown champion, doesn't that now make her a Smackdown woman?

2) If so why is she turning up on Raw? If not why would Shane and Daniel allow it to happen, for a Raw woman to go after their title, instead of one of their own?

So I'm finally getting caught up on the past couple weeks of wrestling, I think I am 4 weeks behind, so I may be making posts of things that happened some time ago. And I know that Asuka has since traveled to Smackdown. But I watched the (I think last) match between Asuka and Nia Jax and it's worth posting about. I actually think the two have had a good rivalry over the past couple of months; even though I totally trashed that one with the false ending a few weeks ago when the ref called for the bell after the (worked) Jax injury. I do like how they made the quest to end Asuka's streak seem as if it was an ultra important to Nia throughout the feud.

The match itself on Raw was great, Jax pulled a lot of hair as she always does. I actually think that if it wasn't for the ref's slow count just before Asuka put her foot on the ropes that the streak would have ended. Asuka impressed me with that triangle armbar that not only looked impressive (I am about to bump Rico's favorite submissions thread) but she also kept locked on for a long time. The look of disappointment on Nia face after the finally submitted sold how disappointed she was in failing in her goal of defeating Asuka (even without Alexa Bliss' pep talk later on in the locker room.) Dare I say it, but the respect the fans showed Nia after the match reminded me of Chris Benoit's ovation after he submitted to Kurt Angle in what was a great match at the 2003 Royal Rumble.

It was a good way to end a good feud.
