The following is from WWE.com:

World Wrestling Entertainment has come to terms on the release of ECW Superstar Armando Estrada as of Nov. 18, 2008. WWE wishes him the best in all future endeavors.

This is another expected one. I can't remember seeing him once after he "won" his contract. Did creative ever actually have any plans for him? He was pretty sloppy in the ring, but he was ripped, and gold on the mic, the two qualities I assumed the WWE liked the most in a superstar.

It's beyond me why WWE had him wrestle anyway, they could have easily used him as a heel manager, as even though Vince McMahon doesn't seem to believe in managers anymore, surely he's not dumb enough to see that the majority of his top guys cannot talk well and need a mouthpiece.

Yeah I liked him best as Umagas Manager... he even did a good job as Heel ECW General Manager. but actually wrestling, nah... I mean yeah he was ripped and could easily have been involved in some storylines as GM too, why not make HIM Raw GM... damn.. too late for that I guess...

Yeah, this one isn't too surprising. I too preferred him with Umaga, because I loved the way he pronounced his name, lol. However, I don't think it's a great loss.

Managers are one of the greatest losses to the WWE.  I believe they should have had Ric Flair play a manager while he was still with the WWE.  TNA makes great use of managers.

I'm actually surprised Estrade lasted this long.  When he stopped being the manager to Umaga, I had been waiting for him to get the ax.

* It's very disapointing that he's been released. This should never have happened.

* I was hoping the reason he wasn't used lately is that he was going to be repackaged as a manager and used to give a new superstar a rub.

* He should still be the manager of Umaga or the ECW general manager.

* Ironic he wrestled to win a contract and we saw him every week almost. But once he does win it he ends up being released.

He offered nothing as a wrestler, sure he was ripped but he had no wrestling ability and he just didnt look like a wrestler, he has manager written all over him. I dont understand why the seperated him and Umaga, Umaga hasnt been the same since as he needs a mouth piece. I would have even preferred him as ECW GM to Teddy Long as i cant stand Teddy. But even if WWE didnt want him in those roles their is loads of heel talent that would benefit from a mouth piece/manager, Vladimir Kozlov for starters, but as has been said WWE obviously dosnt like managers anymore. Guess it was like Elijah Burke, despite having talent creative couldnt come up with any ideas for him. TNA might be interested in him, would be great if they introduced him as Abyss's new manager.

This is a shame for me, that he's been released. Sure, he won't be missed as a wrestler, but as pretty much everyone else has said, he was a top manager and really could have added character to another star who perhaps lacked mic skills, like he did with Umaga.

Seems the days of wrestling managers really are dying!!
