I would agree that this is significant. A TNA fan could argue that such and such a TNA event was bigger; and that is subjective and a matter of perspective. But by pure attendance based on tickets sold All In has the numbers.

While Dave Meltzer never impressed me to begin with as a wrestling journalist, he must feel like an absolute ass for making the statement he did.

According to posters I see, every time this show is advertised it is billed as "Cody will be challenging for the NWA World Title," which is currently held by Nick Aldis, the former Brutus Magnus (Mickie James' husband.) Now I am not going to pretend I regularly follow the NWA; and the NWA is no where near what it once was. It's basically an indy fed of its own living off a name. But I do wonder if Aldis will still be the NWA Champion at the time.

In case anybody's interested here's the press conference held the day of the tickets being released. Cody, Billy Corgan from the Smashing Pumkins, Tessa Blanchard (who was a competitor in the Mae Young Classic), the Young Bucks, and a couple of ROH guys are there. The host announces Christian, Diamond Dallas Page, and Kevin Nash to appear at the show.

Some name value there, who can be trusted to put on a good match for the live crowd.

You can use him to win for a feel good moment or lose and put over one of your full time heels.

Either way you can't lose by having him on your card.

I wish this would get recorded. I would like to see this.

I gotta admit, it's still weird to me thinking that the NWA World Heavyweight Championship isn't as big or bigger than the WWE Championship. But I guess it hasn't been for ages now.

To think that the title once held by Frank Gotch, Lou Thesz, Buddy Rogers, Killer Kowalski, Harley Race, Dusty Rhodes, and Ric Flair means so little now.

Tbh, I wish NWA would do more to unify Impact Wrestling, Ring of Honor and New Japan Pro Wrestling.

Id like to see this too - is it 100% not being recorded?

Seems a shame for such a high profile event to be basically done and forgotten about after the night itself

I 100% expect it to be recorded so it can be streamed live and then sold on DVD. Be idiots not to cash in by doing that.

We’ve previously noted that Cody Rhodes and The Young Bucks’ self-funded “All In” event sold out in less than 30 minutes. It all goes down on September 1st from the Sears Centre in Chicago, Illinois.

Brad Shepard of Bodyslam.net reports that there is no reaction to the “All In” news backstage in WWE. WWE officials don’t seem at all worried about the event’s success. It was noted that the biggest topics of discussion backstage are the Greatest Royal Rumble, WWE’s stock price, and the current European tour.

It was also said that some in WWE make fun of The Bullet Club because they sell a bunch of t-shirts but wrestle in front of small crowds.

E are right not to care. The very next night they sold out a bigger arena, in a foreign country.

If these become regular shows (one per season so four per year) and always sell out, maybe E would then start worrying a little.
