Quote Alexa Bliss approaches Nia Jax backstage for a favor, but Nia says she has to go deliver chicken soup to Enzo, who isn't feeling well. Alexa says Nia has to chose between her or Enzo, but Nia says her soup is getting cold and leaves.

- Alexa Bliss vs. Asuka: This one is a non-title match. It's all Asuka in the opening moments of this one. Alexa leaves the ring multiple times for breathers. Back in the ring, Alexa comes back with a kick to the midsection. Alexa drops Asuka and keeps her grounded with some holds. Asuka fights out, but Alexa drops her again, then bends her around the ring post by the feet and hair. They trade pin attempts, then Alexa grabs the hair and hits a backbreaker. Alexa pummels on Asuka on the mat, then pins for a two count. Asuka comes back with an arm lock, but Bliss shuts her down with more kicks to the midsection. Alexa slaps Asuka across the face, and Asuka answers with a series of dropkicks. She follows up with a running hip attack in the corner, then another one on the mat. Asuka hits a kick, but Alexa comes back with a shot in the corner. Asuka hits a kick and then puts Alexa in the Asuka Lock for the win via submission.

Winner: Asuka

- Asuka celebrates in the ring while Bliss recovers with her Women's Title belt at ringside.

Having the champion tap out in a throw away match that was barely advertised was stupid.

I have no trouble with a heel champion tapping out when the title isn't on the line. But give it a few weeks build at least.

The biggest shock was that nobody came out to get involved so it went to a non finish.

As I stated in the Raw thread I'm disappointed they gave this away on weekly TV rather than giving it a proper build up for a PPV match that would be given more time.

They did fine with the time they got, and heck Alexa got in a fair bit of offence...however when will they stop scripting these women slapping Asuka?

Hopefully now. The odd rare slap is a good thing. But when it's all the time it loses meaning and it's a bit of a throwback move to the Divas era of bra and panties matches.

I suspect now Alexa is going to get you tapped out chants, so she needs to get back some heel heat.

Even if it's a sneak attack with a weapon, have her lay out Asuka next week so she needs a stretcher.

I'm with Baz on this one - i cant believe they have given this match away for free but im even more surprised that there was a clean finish and the champ tapped out in the manner that she did

They should have at least had Bliss get DQ'd for going mad after the attack on her last week

So I'm not the only one huh? I completely expected right from the start that Paige and friends would get involved and the match would go to a non-finish.

It wasn't even that great a match. It could have been, but it was like instead of going to false finishes and starting to really build to a big finish, they just prematurely finished and everyone involved left disappointed. Thanks Vince, master of the quick finish disappointment.

Having a non finish technically ends Asuka's undefeated streak even if its not a loss a non finish finishes her streak and now she would simply be the only women's wrestler who hasn't tapped out or been pinned in a WWE ring.

I can only think that Absolution not coming out is because of Paige suffering a stinger at the live show and they don't want to do a 2 on 1 beat down, 3 usually looks better.

With all this build up on Asuka I now wonder whether she will actually be the one to win the Women's Royal Rumble maybe it will end up being Ronda Rousey or Nikki Bella

Oh god... Not Nikki Bella. Please god no! Rousey I could deal with. Nikki would make me want to gouge my eyes out. I hope it's someone like Asuka, Becky Lynch, or Paige.

The thing is, I would not put it past the WWE to have Nikki Bella come back and win the rumble. It's probably a pretty good guess.

I wouldn't be surprised in the long term, they would reach out to promotions like STARDOM in Japan.

Asuka (Kana in Japan) had her own promotion, and some of the talent she put on much better matches than shes shown in WWE is still available. I know Io Shirai is medically unfit to be cleared (different countries/different standards), but great talent like Mayu Iwatani, and wrestlers who have a WWE friendly look like Sumire Natsu (who is a freelancer) are still available.

As for the current program, Bliss is a weak champion, who gets by because she has a look and a character that historically is preferred by WWE. Especially opposite a champion like Charlotte Flair, with Paige and Asuka on the show, they need to find a way to ether get he to elevate her game in the ring, or change the belt somehow.
NJPW fan.
