Quote As per a report at pwinsider.com, Alberto El Patron was at WWE headquarters in Stamford, CT last week to film interview material for an upcoming projected related to Rey Mysterio.

-- While Alberto was there, he also met with WWE CEO Vince McMahon, who remains a fan of El Patron as both a performer and character. This comes at an interesting time as there haven rumblings lately that WWE is exploring the idea of bringing back Alberto and McMahon is supportive of it.

-- Alberto left WWE in late 2016 and over the next year or so, didn't pull any punches when speaking of WWE, with Triple H being his primary target. In recent times, with rumors of a return circulating, Patron did a 180 and apologized for his comments, while basically blaming his former girlfriend, Paige, for his state of mind.

They don't need him. He's more trouble than he's worth and doesn't deserve a third chance.

If they want to push a Mexican on the main roster, then they have just the guy in NXT.

I suppose with his blaming of Paige he would be put away from her on Smackdown.

It makes no sense to me at all.

Trouble with the law. Trouble with other promotions. Trouble with other colleaguesbin Paige. Almas is miles ahead of him, bar the language barrier. Just don't get it at all.

No thanks!

But Cien Almas isn't tall! Alberto is tall so Alberto wins.

I liked his Mexican Million Dollar Man gimmick, once he dropped that character I found him pretty boring. Ropey promo skills and a ring style that never really clicked in WWE.

Given his history of behavioural issues and that’s he’s now screwed up on two separate occasions with WWE, plus he’s around forty and talking about retiring in the next couple of years I would say leave him well alone.

As others have said push Andrade Almas as the top Mexican star, he’s younger and more talented than Del Rio.

But Alberto cant go in the ring like Almas

Maybe they could form some sort of anti america / foreign stable - because thats something theyve never done before ... right?

In all seriousness though i dont think theres much benefit of resigning him unless he goes to 205 live because if i recall, he used to be a lucha type wrestler before he signed with WWE
