So the second event under the AEW banner is Fyter Fest.

This takes place June 29th and will be at Ocean Centre at Daytona Beach, Florida.

I'm assuming that the interest in this will depend solely on the success of DoN and also how AEW builds from where it is now until the time of the event. This will be the first opportunity for the fans to see some of the new names in AEW such as Darby Allin.

Currently there are 3 scheduled matches:

I would expect another match or two to be announced as early as this week.

We should expect Moxley vs Omega but it might be held off until the third event to keep building it up.

Killer Kross and his real life girlfriend Scarlett Bordeaux have both asked to be released by Impact and the company is usually good at letting talent go if they really want to. They were both backstage at DON and if they were to get their releases to show up here it would be amazing as both are brilliant!!!

Much like they did with Double or Nothing, AEW have started a Road to Fyter Fest series on YouTube and again this did not disappoint

Does anyone know if this will be broadcast in the UK?

Here are the next 2 episodes of the road to Fyter ...

Some great footage and they do an excellent job of building up the excitement to the event

The production values are fantastic and they really are doing the job (including the road to DoN series) of establishing the characters to the audience especially those of have never heard or seen some of these guys and girls.

I haven't followed any of this yet, but I will be attempting to watch this weekend, so I'll catch up on these episodes over the next day or so.

I've just booked this so i can watch it tonight ...

I hear this is free in the US but in the UK we have to pay 8.99 which isnt too bad but its on Fite and can be streamed to TV via Smart TV or Xbox one so ill be doing that.

The card is stacked.

Hopefully there are no bugs with the buy in on youtube this time around

Well for a free show on Bleacher Report, that was one hell of a good event.

I started a bit late, but I still got to see Adam Page, Cody, Young Bucks, and Moxley.

What I saw I really enjoyed.

That said, I don't know that I'll TRULY get into AEW until after the TV show debuts, and I need to be able to stream it easily from a platform like Hulu I can use from any device so I can watch from my living room, or my bedroom, my phone, or my computer.

Bleacher Report Live ain't my bag. I had to watch on my computer, and while I have a decent sized monitor at 23 inches, it's still not the viewing experience I'd want to enjoy when I can watch on a big screen in my living room.

Also, I gotta say, I haven't enjoyed a hardcore match in ages. In fact they've bored me, and completely annoyed me at times, but Moxley vs Janella was fantastic. That brings me back to the days of some of the hardcore matches you'd see in WCW with Raven, or attitude era WWF with Foley.

Someone else will have to tell me about what they thought of the undercard but the last several matches were fantastic.

I didn't really enjoy the pre show I must say - the tag match was good but that really is where it ends.

However the main card was excellent for an event that was free in the US - cant really expect a DoN level event for free can we?

Daniel's v Cima and the ladies triple threat were great.

Cody v Darby was fantastic but I'm not a fan of unprotected chair shots to the head which shawn spears delivered after the match

Fatal 4 way was entertaining and helped establish some rivalries

The elite v lucha brothers was awesome

Mox v Janela was insane and made me appreciate hardcore matches again. Some insane spots.

Overall for me the event was a 7/10 which is great for a free event

I covered the awful pre-show in the live discussion thread, it was terrible if it came across as low rent and amateurish pretty much everything AEW doesn't want to be portrayed as. The tag match was ok but too much of a no sell spot fest for my taste. Skipped most of the ladies match as I can't stand the Librarians and the street fight was terrible. If this is what we can expect from AEW as the main course appetizer I would suggest they abandon the pre-show format from their events.

At least it was only the pre-show I guess, so on to the main card.....

Daniels vs Cima was a lively quick paced match with lots of high spots, solid opener.

There was some great stuff in the women's match but must admit I wasn't that invested in it because again I wasn't familiar with any of the ladies in the match. Nyla Rose was impressive, definitely one to watch. AEW have much building work to do with their women's division.

The fatal four way was enjoyable, some good spots here, MJF was the show stealer here for me with his heel work, loved his pre-match promo he got really good heat.

I struggled to get into Darby Allin vs Cody, something just didn't click between them I felt. It was a solid match with a sick looking bump from Allin on the ring apron. Senseless unprotected chair shot on Cody post-match from Spears though, no need for that shit in today's wrestling. Cody seemed to suffer a nasty gash to his head.

The 6 man tag was a really fun match, I could have done without the video game inspired silliness and there was some timing issues with the spot where they were walking on the rope before vaulting to the outside, but otherwise a enjoyable spot fest, not as good as the match at Double or Nothing I would say.

Moxley vs Janella, match of the night, a proper old school hardcore match using every trick in the book, very creative use of the tacks with Mox removing Janella's shoes to get maximum damage. Great match, this is what a unsanctioned match should look like.

So overall, they made up for the lousy pre-show with the main card but it still highlighted that there is much work to be done before I see this as a good alternative to WWE. But for a free show this was pretty damn good.

The pre show was bad yes but the DoN pre show was better than any WWE PPV (NXT excluded) in the past few years.

Not every pre show is going to be top notch and they will be trying things here or there to judge fan response before they go to weekly tv.

The stage wasn't bad - the event was a bolt on to a video game tournament not a marquee event.

The video game references were needed given the audience and were excellent IMO.

There needs to be some additional things other than pure wrestling Fletch to build interest and allow for crowd interaction.

As I've already said this was a solid event and if this is what the free shows are like then we are in for a treat at All Out when we get back to the paid event format.
