So, question for NFa (you live in Brisbane, or close enough, right?)

How often do you see funnel-webs? Was thoroughly fucked off when I found out you get them this far north, just have no idea how common they are.

I live in Ipswich which is about 40ish minutes west of Brisbane.

Yeah I would say I would see a funnel webs almost daily they are basically everywhere. I reckon someone with a phobia of them would go nuts considering I see them in my house regularly.

Whenever I go out West I'm always freaking out worrying about snakes.

Right, so, not going anywhere near Ipswich in future then LOL

Still haven't seen any huntsmans, pretty happy, but we found a wolf spider last night. Shat myself. As nice as the kangaroos and random birds are, fuck this country's wildlife.

What's wrong with snakes? Figure Common Death Adders would be the only worry really, nothing else would do much if you're careful...

Still though. Fuck spiders.

My phobia of snakes is huge even if I see one at a distance I freak out. I sometimes live about another half an hour west again of Ipswich where it is Brown snakes/red belly blacks everywhere.

If you don't like out wildlife while your in the city then do not take an hours drive west. In 10 squared metres out there there would be 8 animals that could kill you LOL

Fucking everything kills you here anyway. 5 minute walk from my house in a nice new suburb, still being completed and everything, and there's still fucking Kangaroos all over the place.

I can honestly not think of any uniquely Australian animal (bar last night's Wolf Spider, probably) that I've seen yet that couldn't potentially kill me at a stretch. Even the "harmless" snakes (spotted pythons, Children's pythons etc.) still could if they really tried. Then there's the ants. ANTS FFS, ANTS ARE NOT THINGS THAT SHOULD BE DANGEROUS.

Also, we should swap phobias, there don't seem to be many snakes up north, as opposed to all the spiders Big smile

Ahh the joys of living nowhere near that hemisphere LOL

Glad you're enjoying the Aussie life, well bar the annoying creatures that are a constant threat to you.

Been here two weeks and it hasn't rained once, barring small showers lasting about an hour last week (nor for about five weeks before that), when was the last time Wales went two weeks without rain? Tongue

So... NFa... Ipswich, huh?

Turn on the news tonight, what are the headlines? "Man gets viciously beaten by 5 men at his own home in Ipswich" and "Bus gets shot at in Ipswich".

And you were talking shit about Deception Bay...

Ipswich is seriously complete trash though you can decrease your chances of being murdered by staying AWAY FROM BELL STREET. We have a huge reputation as the shit hole that happens to be near Brisbane.

When we had swimming/ athletic carnivals we had so much fun. All the other schools were from Brisbane and the chants back at eachother were hilarious

Another school would go "Go back to Ipswich" and we would hit back with "We stole your hubcaps"
