Lol cheers for that. Think I'm okay in terms of dangerous spiders, from what I've been told we don't get Redbacks so much as far north as I am (North Lakes, about halfway between Brisbane City and the Sunshine Coast). I'm not so concerned about the Redbacks though really, provided I see them before they get anywhere near me, because they're only small. It's more the big fuckers I'm worried about. As spiders go, huntsmans aren't too horrifically ugly, it'll just take me a while to get used to the size of them, given the biggest spiders we get in the South Island are whitetails.

I've found out a bit more about the nature of snakes, as my sister has one as mentioned. Young, so it's a bit more aggressive than adults, which are pretty passive as snakes go, but it definitely seems more scared of me than I am of it. Sneezed while it was looking at me, it looked PISSED, would have attempted to take my face off if there wasn't glass between us LOL

But yeah, fuck Australian wildlife. Native NZ creatures are all pussies because they've never had predators, it's nice. But no, obviously at one point Aussie just had one hard, scary motherfucker walking around, and every other single thing on the continent got hard and scary to keep up.

Comes back with a single...
"Has he already paid?"
"Yeah, but he told us to keep it because he paid in EFTPOS."
"Alright then."

dunno if this is a stupid question, but what is EFTPOS?

Yeah, something like that, it's just paying with your credit/debit card.

But that wasn't the point of that story Tongue

It'll go below freezing multiple times daily in Christchurch in winter.

I have no idea what 29°C is. We still use fahrenheit in the states. I don't know why either.

29 degrees is abit too hot for me and thankfully a tempreture we don't see much of even in our hottest time of year.

Mid 20s is enough for me or even nearer 20 degrees.

Dunno why folks go on holiday to places like the far east to holiday in 40-50 degrees shit which is well into the 100s in 'old money'.

29C is 84F, apparently. Record lows in January are about 62, and the lowest it's ever been is 31. With Florida-level humidity.

Simple Celsius to Fahrenheit conversion to within a couple of degrees - Celsius x2 +30.  E.G. 29C x2 = 58 + 30 = 88F.

Oh yeah, the fast food. Totally agree with Mouz that Hungry Jacks make the best franchise burgers, I have an outlet down the road for me which I hit at least once a week - but it's my second choice. I'm lucky to have an old fashioned 'Milk Bar' down the road - the places we used to get burgers and chips (NOT 'fries') etc from, long before the franchises showed up in Oz. The buns are twice as big as the fasties, real beef patties they make in the shop, and with onions, egg, bacon, tomato, lettuce, beetroot, I can stuff my face for $6. Nothing like eating a burger where the juices run out all over your hands lol.
I'd definitely check out the indy burger places in your neighbourhood Raven, you may find a really good one. Plus its cool when the owners/cooks get to know you and start adding freebies to your order for being a regular. Thumbs Up
