So it seems Vince is wanting to make changes to the WWE network. More content maybe from Impact ? Maybe more of the old Mid Atlantic days. How about some vintage Florida Championship Wrestling. ICW ? Or a lower price , ya I know wishful thinking. I would like to see it on a better system. At times here it will freeze up and get blurry for a few moments the more users that log on. I dunno ,guess we will see

There are strong rumours that WWE are in negotiations to sell much of the more valued Network content to another streaming service, ESPN has been named as a possibility but even names like Netflix have been in the mix.

What would this mean? Would all PPV's or at least the major ones be removed from the Network and fans would need a separate subscription to watch them? If all PPV's or even just the likes of Wrestlemania are gone then I don't think I would continue my Network subscription.

If all PPV's and NXT went to another streaming service I would happily subscribe to it and cancel the Network, I don't really watch much WWE content on there other than that.

I wouldn't be surprised if they are looking for an (another) alternative to the traditional PPV market.

With standard PPV, about half of the price consumers pay goes to the PPV service provider and the cable or satellite provider. The actual content provider (in this case WWE) then has to wait months to receive their half. WWE's payment is based entirely upon what the buyrate according to the PPV provider company.

With the OTT model of the WWE Network, WWE only pays out small fees to some Internet providers for bandwidth. WWE however gets their payment directly from the consumers without having the long wait. WWE also see the actual number of subscribers that paid and watched the show.

Based on published information, the Network model works when there's a minimum 1 million monthly US subscribers. Which is a number that the Network has struggled to maintain. International markets bring the additional time and expense of currency conversion.

WWE has surely been looking to other options. They would love to make more money from their monthly "supershows" without having to wait for their pay. But they want to remain in control over their content without having to acquiesce to another broadcast partner. WWE's resistance to inter-gender matches is said to come from USA Network and Fox.

However given their low TV ratings, it's hard to imagine that anyone is offering WWE the big money deal that they think they deserve. The price point of the Network has lowered the perceived value of these shows. WWE is going to have to convince there audience that their shit-shows are worth more than $9.99.

Personally, I'm more curious why, despite the long-standing rumors, WWE hasn't attempted a tier system. What have their repeated surveys on the subject shown?

As long as the network still has PPV showing then it will still be worth the money IMO

I had a quick look earlier and BT Sport Box Office (who are the ones that show PPV's in the UK) are charging 14.95 just for Super Showdown

If PPVs are removed from the Network I will cancel my subscription as I don't use it for much else.

With stream sites like Watch Wrestling around it's not like you need to give E your cash to watch their product anyway.

If the Network is shut then add it to the long list of Vince Mcmahon failures like bodybuilding, XFL, bringing back ECW etc.

I used to manage quite happily using Watch Wrestling sites but in more recent times the sites have become a bit unreliable with streams being removed or being full of ads and/or being poor quality at times. So I subscribe to the WWE Network for the convenience of having all the PPV's on there, I also watch NXT and from time to time something else on there may catch my eye but in honesty it is only really the PPV's that keep me subscribing so without them I would certainly cancel as NXT alone doesn't justify 9.99 per month not when I can view it via other means fairly easily.

I've watched a couple recent episodes of The Bump. The 90 minute run time is a bit much. The overall vibe of the show is similar to a lot of sports talk shows that clutter up ESPN and Fox Sports during the morning and afternoon hours. However nobody is playing devil's advocate or being remotely critical of the product.

There's also too many hosts on the show. Kayla Braxton is presented as the lead. However fanboys Matt and Evan are more entertaining. There's a couple of other guys that don't add anything interesting. And for some reason McKenzie Mitchell (generic blonde interviewer #5) is also thrown into the mix. So that 6 hosts.

The long format out-of-character interview segments are the best part. But then again I enjoy hearing people's backstories on how they got into the business. The interview with Tyson Kidd & Natayla was very good. Tyson mentioned he was first thought of as being a friend of her "cousin's" and wasn't immediately welcomed by the family. That's as close to a mention as Teddy Hart is going to get on WWE.

This is my own screen grab and crop showing host Kayla Braxton not paying attention to guest Aleister Black. I'm sure management thinks she's the star of the show, but I find her to be totally annoying.

The usual week in recap segment is superfluous given there's already a weekly highlight show. And it's not like anyone here is going to criticize any of the segments on any of the shows.

They also do some dumb trivia contest stuff. Honesty, I'd rather they tried a separate game show for fans to try to win PPV tickets. As this feels like a bad morning radio segment.

So overall, I think the show is trying to be too many things at once. It also doesn't help that all of the hosts are pretending to be fanboys that love everything the WWE puts out. Really fans don't agree on everything.

Isn't Kayla Braxton the one that just left WWE?
