From Jim Ross Website............

Quote Over the years there has been casual talk inside the WWE about the WWE having its own network ala the NFL Network, etc but I have heard nothing of such matters in a long while. Who knows, but it seems feasible in the future.

Maybe it's something WWE and Sky can work out for the next round of contract talks. Something like this could be a really good kayfabe show. The schedule on a typical monday for example could be like this.........

9-12: Retro ppv like an in your house.

12-1: Phone in of what people think will happen on Raw tonight.

2-4: Backstage at the venue for the latest news.

Anyway you get the idea and when Raw finishes they could have a two hour phone in on what happened. There's enough material and ideas for it to be a 24/7 thing.

I would be down for a WWE network. They own so many archives it wouldn't be impossible to have wrestling on 24/7. I would rebroadcast the Monday Night Wars. Have Nitro and RAW on back to back from back in the day. Show the broadcasts from the 70s and 80s, Show all of the PPVs. This idea has merit and then some.

They already have something like that, it's WWE 24/7, where WWE plays all of there video library from NWA, ECW, WCW, and other stuff. If they added the weekley shows it could become even bigger. Its too bad comcast doesn't privide it.

This would expand on the original WWE 24/7 idea. Instead of having a few matches or events available to watch during a month; there would be set schedules with archived videos and original programming available. I would trade 24/7 with a network anyday of the week, and twice on Sundays.

Quote WWEs planned cable network is still in the works, according to an article on the companys website. While Setting The Record Straight against the inaccuracies being reported by Democrats in Connecticut and various media outlets, the company revealed yesterday that it will be adding another 140 employees next year to work on the new cable network. WWE plans to shop the channel around to the national cable television providers next year.

It was always something I wanted to see, so I hope it doesn't become a letdown.

They need to make sure this channel is available in the main markets around the world, on debut Stateside.

This is a dream for wrestling geeks everywhere to remember the good old days.

Yeah and here as well... But I reckon it will only be in USA and maybe Canada as it would have to have its own tryout for awhile to see whether or not it can succeed or not. If this does go ahead, I guess we have to expect MORE wrestlers to be signed up by WWE as I believe we will have more live/taped wrestling shows.

Quote WWE's plans to launch a WWE TV Network have been pushed back at least two years to 2012 or even 2013, according to COO Donna Goldsmith.

WWE originally targeted mid-2011 to launch their own cable TV network. In the third quarter conference call with investors earlier this month, WWE backed off previously bold statements on when they expected to launch the network.

"It's taken us longer to galvanize the troops and figure out where we're going," Goldsmith said at the Reuters Global Media Summit today. "My guess is more like the middle of 2012 or even the beginning of 2013 before we're ready to go forward."

Goldsmith said at the quarterly conference call with investors that WWE plans to speak with cable TV partners in the first quarter 2011 to establish a direction for the network.

At the Reuters summit, Goldsmith said the planned model for WWE's cable network will be similar to the MLB Network where several companies own a stake in the network.

Prior to finalizing the network model, Goldsmith said WWE is trying to determine the type of programming to offer. Decisions have not been made yet on how to structure programming or ownership, which are holding back the planned launch.

WWE has continued to invest money in expanding their TV production facility and capabilities prior to launching a cable TV network.

In third quarter 2010, WWE reported that capital expenditures increased to $9.1 million from $3.6 million in the prior year third quarter primarily due to increased investments in "television production initiatives."

I wouldn't expect it to happen now.

I just want to know what they would fill their tv roster with outside of Raw and Smackdown if they decide to air those shows on that channel.
