Now ive just had a thought and it may not warrant a new thread but i thought i would give it a go and see what you guys all think.

There has been alot of stuff happening with Rusev in the last few days.

He was meant to be facing Undertaker in a Casket Match at the WWE event in Saudi Arabia which then after what seemed like a ton of backlash, he was removed from and replaced with Chris Jericho.

Rusev in between all of this also posted "Bury me softly brother" on his social media accounts which again allegedly did not go down well with WWE top brass.

On top of this it has been well documented in the past couple of days that WWE edited out alot of Rusev Day chants from the Smackdown Live broadcast posted on various platforms following the live event.

Rusev has ow removed all mentions of WWE from his social media accounts and has posted up an email address for enquiries.

There are alot of reasons to also believe this is a work given how over Rusev is with the fans and this "bad" treatment could easily be a way of increasing this before finally giving him that big push - sort of how they did with Daniel Bryan.

However, this is where i have been thinking.

Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn, Rusevs'  former Smackdown colleagues are now seemingly without a job after being FIRED from Smackdown and then a subsequent match between the 2 ending in a no contest on Raw.

Kurt Angle also name dropped TNA saying that they were hiring in a backstage segment with them.

Could this be the start of a sort of invasion angle? Where superstars who have been fired (kayfabe) or/and are disgruntled can possibly show up on both shows attacking superstars during matches.

It would make perfect sense to me and all of the guys invovled are relatively over with the crowd so would get that response you would want from an angle of that type.

You could add into that trio the possibility of Neville, who by all accounts walked out, but has not yet had his contract terminated or been wished the best of luck in his future endeavours. This angle could be a way to work him back into the WWE (obviously if his issues were legit, youd have to assume that they sorted all of that out and were just waiting for an opportunity to write him back in).

There is probbaly enough room in there to add some current superstars who have not yet left or who are currently disgruntled, people like Dolph Ziggler, Zack Ryder , maybe even Cena following his Mania match- if they wanted to they could go as far as adding Reigns to that list given his issues with Brock but the likelyhood would be he would be the savior of wwe at Survivor Series.

The group could be led / managed by Lana.

Again this is a total random thought but given how things are going and how over some of these guys are - i think it could work.

They would need to book it well though and make it seem legit as possible both on TV and off TV (adding superstars to alumni page, having them put up email addresses for bookings on social media, even possibly showing up in the crowd of wrestling events from other promotions)

Anyways, what do you guys think?

As awesome as that sounds I don't think Vince would ever go for it. I can imagine other promotions would be willing to run with something like that as they would get a spike in ratings and Ticket sales but I don't think Vince would ever go for it as he already holds the monopoly pretty much in the US
Y'know what?....It's really fucking hot here in Africa. Who knew?....Well me, I have been doing this for almost 5 years

They keep teasing ideas like this, like back when HHH helped Owens become champion of the universe. It never seems to pan out, but I DO like the idea. Might even be enough to keep me around. At this point I'm pretty well out the door with wrestling until mitb.

I love the idea of a NWO style angle where instead of former WWE guys going against WCW it’s former ROH/TNA/NJPW talent up against WWE. Merge Owens and Zayn in with the Undisputed Era and maybe even the Balor Club too.

And on that note Jeff Jarrett was just inducted into the WWE Hall Of Fame, and he runs Global Force Wrestling...

Yeah, I would love another type of invasion angle. They are always intriguing. But I usually have a problem with them in the sense that they are too short.

If it's just people whom are disgruntled from WWE that you mention; then I wouldn't mind a rather sort storyline which would result in Owens and Zayn getting their jobs back in WWE after a few weeks, and afterwards everyone else just starts to blend in with the company.

But if the "disgruntled" WWE wrestlers bring in actual outside talent; then for the purposes of giving legitimacy to the "outsideness" I would want it to run for at least a good year. I have always been a firm believer that both the 2001 WCW invasion and the 2010 Nexus invasion (with their original members) should have had much longer runs.

And I know this would never happen, but I think it would be the awesomest thing in the world if a wronged Enzo is a part of this invasion, should it happen, even if it's after he's found innocent and/or the case is dropped.
