As we reported earlier today via PWInsider.com, WWE is planning on taking the 205 Live crew on the road as a standalone brand for non-televised live events.

Featured below is the official announcement, which was just released via WWE.com:

WWE 205 Live to hold three special live events in January

The Cruiserweight division is ready to fly high and drop jaws as WWE 205 Live holds three special events in January. Don’t miss your chance to see Enzo Amore, Kalisto, Gentleman Jack Gallagher and all your favorite Superstars at 205 pounds and under in action three days in a row.

* Friday, Jan. 19, 2018 – Kingston, RI – The Ryan Center
* Saturday, Jan. 20, 2018 – Lowell, MA – Lowell Auditorium
* Sunday, Jan. 21, 2018 – Poughkeepsie, NY – Mid Hudson Civic Center

Tickets for each event go on sale Friday, Dec. 8, at 10 a.m. EST.

I sincerely hope the venues sell out because it would be a boost for the brand.

It will mean more pay for the wrestlers and it shows faith in them that management plan to continue with the brand.

I'm sure those that go will be entertained and the roster might well be expanded with some fresh talent by then.

Quote WWE was scheduled to hold a 205 Live event at the Ryan Center in Kingston, RI on January 19th. However, the arena has announced that the event has been canceled:

"WWE 205 Live Tour scheduled for Friday, January 19th at 7:30 PM at the Ryan Center on the campus of the University of Rhode Island has been cancelled. All tickets for the Friday, January 19th show at the Ryan Center show will be fully refunded.

The Ryan Center Box Office is open Monday-Friday 10am-6pm and Saturday 10am – 2pm. Questions may be directed to 401-788-3021."

Here are the matches that were announced for the show:

WWE Cruiserweight Championship Match with Special Guest Referee Nia Jax

Enzo Amore vs.
Cedric Alexander

Special Attraction Match

‘Woken’ Matt Hardy vs. Bray Wyatt

Hideo Itami vs. Gentlemen
Jack Gallagher

Even with the attraction of Woken Matt Hardy vs Bray Wyatt 205 on its own was not gonna do well for a tour, the fact that you had so few matches announced for it didn't help things either.

The card itself looks pretty average even with Hideo Itami vs Jack Gallagher which would be the only match I feel would be worth seeing as a Bray Wyatt match holds no interest to me and if I could go the rest of my life without seeing another match with Enzo Amore in it I will do just that.

Probably the most pointless Tour in WWE history

The 205 division has been on a downwards spiral since Neville walked out and theres no one there that is a big enough draw to get the crowds through the door

Just get rid of the division and split the roster onto the 2 main shows and concentrate where they should be on delivering a good product for both the mens and womens divisions

Despite my username (more a play a words now rather than a statement of my support for the show lol), this tour has come at the wrong time.

They did the survey on why people aren't watching 205 Live anymore. They have more 205 Live segments main eventing Raw. They have a 205 Live specific tour. But you know what's wrong with all this? The booking, the chosen champs, the Raw Lite segments opening, middling, and sometimes even closing the show (on a less than 1 hour f'n show!!!!!), has really soured me on the product. Not even the possibility of Cedric winning has me excited as I would have MUCH preferred Cedric to be the one who finally usurped Neville's throne once and for all.

Such a shame as the first 80% odds of Neville's run at the top of the show was some of the quietly best booked stuff WWE had to offer.
